I carry a cheap Chromebook when I travel multiple days so I can make changes to the trip plan, if needed, on the road using the internet at hotels. I don't use Basemap for planning because its Computer Based and FURKOT is Web/Cloud based. It's free for most functionality but if you want access to Satellite Maps (vs just Road) and a few other features it will cost you $14/year. I've been playing around with Honda Trip Planner - not very useful, and Harley Trip Planner which I have used over the years - it has seen new features added, but I think FURKOT is the best.

Miss my Garmin Zumo, but want to make the best of the integrated NAV system (I do like the display!). I'm getting good at using the hand controls to select Clear Guidance from the Nav menu and deleting the top (missed) waypoint on the fly.

This NAV sw will NOT give up trying to force you to go back for missed waypoints (unless I'm missing something).

Create the waypoint a little off road and watch the web based app move the dot into the road! You still need to be careful on divided hi-ways and near intersections as it might end up in the wrong place. One really nice feature is that it won't place a waypoint OFF the road. I plan many trips - single, multiple days using FURKOT.COM. New GL1800 owner (2 weeks), just getting to know what the NAV system can and can't do (I'm on the current Jan19 release).
